its UGLY outside...
...i know that i am not a huge fan of HOT, but even tim is minding this stuff. megan just gave me the update that at 11:08pm the heat index is still 96. YUK!!! thank goodness for air-conditioning.
monday morning we had a day hospital appt and that went very well.
monday afternoon we had a speech therapy appt and that went slightly better than before.
tuesday i had to work and then we had a 4pm clinic appt to see a doctor...that may not sound like a strange statement-but tim has not actually seen a doctor since he was discharged in early june. they have been monitoring his care through a nurse practitioner and have gotten updates from that. the appt went very well.
some parts were good and some parts were scary...but overall we think it went well.
good parts-they are going to continue to wean him off the steroids
-they are going to consider letting him drive "short" distances
-they are going to graduate him from the day hospital to the clinic because there are sicker people than him who need his spot.
scary parts-they gave us an antibiotic to carry with us at all times incase he should spike a temp or get the shakes, and we were told that we are to take the pills immediately and get into the car and drive the the ER and call them on the cell phone on the way there. (i guess we forget how immunosuppressed his system really is).
-they are soon (in a couple of weeks) going to repeat the bone marrow and all the CT scans and "re-stage" his disease...?? it was a stage 4...i know that there is no stage 5, but is there a stage ZERO??
so...it was an eventful couple of days i guess. all in all things are progressing in the right direction. although we are in for a long night tonight...that bladder thing is back again (like the fourth time-yuk). pray that he has a restful night and it doesn't linger for long. he is in a lot of discomfort right now.
thanks for checking in-
sorry i missed a day in there.

Greetings from Oregon. This week Garrett was telling his uncle about his great pastor at church. I didn't recognize the man he was describing and finally figured out he was talking about Tim. We love you and pray for you often.

Tam, I also have some rough nights sleeping. Sometimes, like tonight, I hear Ray getting ready for work and then I can't get back to sleep. I just get up and do things for a while and tonight it was great to read your blog. The good things are GREAT!! The Dr. has to be thrilled with Tim's progress to even suggest driving. And the fact that Tim is doing too good for the day hospital - Praise God!! We'll keep on praying and praise God for Tim's complete recovery.
Sandy
Through all of this, remember every minute to keep your eyes fixed on the great God who has gotten you this far and never takes His eyes off of you for even a second.
How exciting that they are allowing the driving! More freedom!! Hallelujah! Now remember Mark's cells are in there... very slow and prone to go the wrong way up some very busy streets. Don't let it scare you when you notice his sense of direction diminished. Those cells came from his brother. :)
Take care you guys and keep the focus on our God!!!
Love ya!!
Deb
Tim and Tammy, there is a stage 0 in our world! God is faithful. We know how busy thigs are for you. Please take it easy with this heat. I[Judy]am even minding this heat! Praying for a continued healing for Tim. We are encouraged!
Hi--what great and encouraging news-we serve an awesome God who can do anything-that just never ceases to amaze me! The antibiotics are just a precaution. We are believing along with lots and lots of others for Tim's complete healing. We are expecting to hear great news about the re-staging as well. Look out world--Tim is getting his wheels back!!!!! How great is that!? Hang in there and try to stay cool. Love and prayers,
Kathy and Ron
P>S. Tell Tim that Ronnie still prays for him every night before he goes to bed.
Glad to hear the good news. I bet Tim is happy to hear that he may be driving again soon. Also good news that he has been bumped to the clinic. To echo another, the antibiotic is just a precaution. Tim will just continue to get stronger & stronger.
We will be praying for you and for a 'zero' on the re-stage.
Prayers & Love-
Bryn and Joe
P.S.
Tam, you may need to define for Tim what a 'short' distance is. :-)
