i wish...

...that i could say that our day off was wonderful but i can't.

because tim is doing so well they have decided that it is time to wean him off his pain meds...we had started this process last week and because of the length of time that he has been on the morphine we have had to cut back slowly. perhaps we didn't go slow enough...he has been extremely uncomfortable all day yesterday and throughout the night tonight. i just gave him some more tylenol with codeine to try to take the edge off. (i guess the morphine was doing more than we thought).

when i look up morphine withdrawl symptoms on-line i can see many similarities to how tim has felt in the last 24 hours or so...which has been pretty crappy. we are hoping that this is all we are dealing with and in another day or so he will be feeling better.

we go back to the hospital this morning at 10am. i am going to try and get a little more sleep before then.
