hey mommy...can you come to mcdonalds???
ok...here is the setting
i am at home at 10:30pm
just me and meg sitting at the computer trying to decide if we are going on a beach vacation this year...and i get a "twin" call.
so...why would a 17 year old need her mother to come at mcdonalds at 10:30pm...yep you guessed it...the picture gave it away i guess.
she was in that "place" that they put people who come at odd hours and they feel guilty giving you that OLD food that has been just laying there. you all have been there.....could you just pull around to the front and wait...so her and her friend we just sitting there in the car waiting for the HOT french fries and chicken nuggets listening to some sort of music i am sure and they look up and...
the debate started.
he is going to hit us
no...he sees us
no...he is going to hit us
no...he sees us
BEEP BEEP
he hit us...
anyone out there involved in their first accident when they were only 17 years old? it is kinda scary...insurance cards and damage reports and do you call the police or not call the police...
my child did what any normal 17 year old would do...CALL MOM!!!
so off i went to the mcdonalds down the street to see what kind of damage we are talking...the car that hit our car was from out of town just passing through (poor people probably just pulled in to use the restroom)
the gentleman...we liked him right from the start...he was wearing a blue tie-die PSU t-shirt.
the lady...well, she is not that important
so megan and i get out of the car and go over to look at the damage and ...i can't really see anything. (yes...i know i am getting old but i even had my glasses)
the guy came over and showed me where the bumper was a little loose...probably broke a clip or something and the paint was perhaps a bit cracked...but those cracks kinda blended in really nice with all the other cracks and the missing hubcap.
so...we cut the guy a break and sent him on his way...i figure my brothers can probably get me the missing clip and if not i always thought those duct taped cars were kinda cool.
as you can see...nothing new at the dewalt residence...same old same old...
hope all is good out in cyberland
thanks for checking in
tammy

Typical day...
Deb
Sheesh, I'm glad everyone is all right. And it could have been worse: she could have been at Olive Garden. Now that would have been a disaster!
i haven't checked in for awhile, but usually when i do, i find all kinds of "stuff" going on.
so glad it was just a bump! (every time i go to McDonalds i have an accident [i never eat those cinnamon thingies on purpose!]
i obviously missed your birthday, so...Belated Happy Birthday from CA!
how wonderful are your kids and your friends to throw that party for you!
i bet in your heart of hearts---you were delighted! but then...i'm one of those who loves to be the center of attention, so i base my suspicions on my love of parties.
hope you are all well.
see you in the first week of August...
xo from Auntie
