hey there...

i suppose that you all are checking out this site every few hours for the new update...

well...here it is.

we are home (that would be me AND ashley)

as some of you already know ashley was home alone on monday and took a NASTY FALL down the basement stairs. i will not go into all the details but i can tell you that it involved a few teenagers (who did a WONDERFUL JOB in an emergency situation) and a few moms who came to the rescue AND a fire truck full of big burly men, a police officer, two ambulances and a multitude of emergency personnel...

need i say more...

typical day at the dewalts...

nothing is broken but she is pretty banged up.

concussion with a pounding headache that has not let up since the fall and some serious nausea at times.

contussions of the left shoulder with a stretched AC joint (i have no idea what that means)

bruised ribs

messed up left knee that has her on crutches for a while

follow-up with the bone and joint guys

follow-up with the pediatric headache guys

and all this just days before i have to move megan into penn state.

the good news is that nothing was broken and she is going to be fine...

funny part was that we were put into a room on the 7th floor that is now the pediatric ward but it used to be the adult oncology ward...guess who spent about a month in that same room?!?! someone thought that it would bother her that she was in her dad's hospital room but she actually thought it was VERY COOL.

the bad news is that she will probably not be volunteering to do the laundry anymore.
