Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

keeping busy...

i thought that we were really pretty "organized" as far as being able to prepare in some ways for tim to be gone...but reality has stepped in and i am finding out that you can NEVER be really prepared.

there is a lot of STUFF to take care of when someone dies...especially someone who still had a job and a wife and three kids at home. we are going to probate ? the will on friday and then finalize the trust account for the kids. i have been dealing with social security and that alone has been an adventure. i tried to call them on friday and then again on tuesday and then again on wednesday...82 times!!! 82 busy signals!!! YES i counted...after about the first 10 times i started making slash marks...so i get in the car and drive down into the city...have to parallel park...pay one quarter for every 10 minutes on the meter...go in and find out they moved to the 8th floor...find the elevators...take a number...take a seat...finally get called and she said "you need an appointment to do this you should have called first"

good thing there was a security guard sitting in there...

i have called the medical center and dealt with the benefits people
i have met with the PEPSI benefits people (they make house calls-nice)
i have talked to my attorney-lots
i have talked with the bank
i have talked with METLIFE
i have talked with PRUDENTIAL
i have talked with myself...lots
i have traveled to far away counties to get certified marriage certificates
i have learned how to spell PROTHONOTARY
i have forgotten that i actually have a job (or at least i had one) so in the morning i have to call my boss

many of you out there in cyberspace are wondering how i am doing...i will let you all know when i get off this roller coaster ride of calls and forms and proof of this and proof of that. hopefully by the end of next week i will be catching some free-time. it has been insane around here.

thanks for everything...especially the prayers.

thanks for checking in

Sometimes you just want to look at these people and say,"I'm a person - not a number! This is real - not a statistic!" Thank God for security guards.....keep the faith Tammy. The only call that is truly important is the one you make to the Father....do it often. He WILL show you the way. In the meantime, if you need any help in all of this, you can call on others. We would be more than happy to help you keep those quarters in your pocket. We continue to pray for all of you and know His strength will carry you through.

Hi Tammy, You really make me chuckle! Although I am so sorry for the obstacles you are facing. It is true and as the lyrics state, "God will make a way way where there seems to be no way ..."

We will continue to pray for you and the resolutions to all these matters. May the Lord bless you and go before you!

I'll bet the people downtown were glad for those security guards, too. You are right, there is soooooo much red tape and hoops to jump through, but we will all pray you through it. Hang in there. Let us know if there is anything we can do.

Been there! Done that! Even 30 years ago, Getting what one needs from Social Security is somewhat like a scavenger hunt. "Everything on the list" must be obtained if you're going to win, and persistence is the trick to obtaining everything.
I think what I hated most was the fact that agency people didn't acknowledge that Ron was a person beyond his SS#.
I hated filling out documents where I had to indicate that I was "Single" or "Widowed."
What was good though, was that I saw over and over again how God had---and would continue to--- provide for me and the girls.

When dealing with attorneys, social security or insurance companies, remember they are human and have the laws of the land to follow. Be the light of God to them. Be persistent, but be anxious for nothing. Everything will happen in God's time.

I saw those security guards when I went with my mom a few months back --- interesting place! They take very seriously the signs that say no cell calls. I know this because I had my dad's cell phone in my purse and it started ringing and I was trying to figure out how to make it stop. :) In the midst of all the phone calls you need to make and things that need to be taken care of, enjoy this nice "heat wave" we're having and know you're all still in our thoughts and prayers.---diane
